Specialist teaching creates the perfect balance of fitness and fun

Physical Education

The Physical Education program at Buckley House is a sequentially developed program taught by a specialist teacher and includes:

  • Athletics
  • Ball handling
  • Dance
  • Gymnastics
  • Major games
  • Minor games
  • Swimming

 

In addition, the Early Learning Centre (4-year-old), Prep and Year 1 classes are offered a Perceptual Motor Program. This program helps young students to develop important skills such as hand/eye co-ordination, balance and motor co-ordination.

Sport

A diverse range of sports is provided for all students from Years 3 to 6 on a weekly basis and a number of special sporting events are also held for younger students. Variety is key with 19 different sports being offered, and the students compete in both intra-school and inter-school fixtures.

Students at various levels participate in a variety of sporting events, including:

  • Athletics
  • Swimming
  • Cross Country
  • Winter sports
  • Summer sports
 

Participation is valued highly and students are encouraged to take part and do their best.
